Each day is a new adventure for Alan Arellano as he treks to local breathtaking landscapes and sets up his easel. Originally from Monterey, California, he works primarily in acrylic on wood panel. Much of Alan’s work shows the beauty of the Salinas Valley and Monterey County at large. Having recently relocated to Winston, Oregon, Alan is transitioning his focus from Monterey County landscapes to vibrant Douglas County plein air paintings. While he is primarily known for his vivid, colorful paintings, Alan’s portfolio also includes a limited selection of his bronze sculptures. Created a few years ago, these three-dimensional pieces masterfully span an emotional range from delicate fairies to fierce birds of prey.
