I have lived, worked, & shown as an artist in Northern California; Anchorage, Alaska; on 2 sailing trips across the South Pacific; Stevensville, Montana; and now, Roseburg, Oregon.

From the land of the midnight sun to the hot tropics, I have had the privilege of experiencing the vast beauty of our natural world. These experiences have led to my extensive use of color and to the constant exploration of visualizing my emotional and spiritual reactions to my world.

The basis of my abstract figurative imagery over the past decades is based on my research into the science of biological based cellular and molecular processes and healing; human physiology; natural mathematics and Beauty.

I describe my work as an equivalent of a poem vs. a novel. I paint vivid imagery and add a title that allows the viewer freedom to construct their own story, rather than a well-crafted, detailed image that could be quickly boxed & labeled. I encourage people to spend the time and look at the work and be surprised by how it can change as different details are noticed.

Frida Kahlo once said of her paintings that they were ‘images of ports not yet discovered’. I connected immediately to that idea, that my images also seem to come from places not yet discovered.
